Primary Applications of Aluminum Hydroxide

Aluminum hydroxide flame retardant is one of the halogen-free flame retardants and smoke suppressants for synthetic materials.

(1) It possesses three primary functions: flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and charge retention. It produces no secondary pollution during combustion, exhibits excellent dispersibility in polymers, and readily forms synergistic flame-retardant effects with other additives. It finds extensive application in unsaturated polyesters, epoxy resins, thermoplastics, synthetic rubbers, composite materials, and more. Aluminum Hydroxide Flame Retardant Manufacturer

(2) When used in unsaturated polyester injection molding for various high/low-voltage switches, adding aluminum hydroxide imparts flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and arc resistance. High-purity aluminum hydroxide achieves whiteness exceeding 93%, exhibiting crystalline properties with a refractive index similar to polyester resin.

(3) In epoxy resins, aluminum hydroxide significantly enhances the oxygen index, making it suitable for sealants, castings, and epoxy fiberglass boards. For electrical applications, it improves epoxy's impact resistance and toughness. Aluminum hydroxide-filled epoxy resins hold great potential in manufacturing transformers, insulating materials, and switchgear. Aluminum Hydroxide Flame Retardant Manufacturer

(4) Adding high-charge aluminum hydroxide to flammable polyolefin plastics like polyethylene and polypropylene not only improves flame retardancy but also facilitates molding processing through composite reactions. This enhances tensile strength and impact resistance, making it widely applicable for conduit and equipment jackets.

(5) In rubber applications, aluminum hydroxide serves not only as a flame retardant but also as a reinforcing agent, foam rubber binder, and carpet backing adhesive. It is also suitable for neoprene rubber. Aluminum hydroxide significantly enhances the leakage protection performance of silicone rubber.

(6) Aluminum hydroxide is extensively used in the carpet and nonwoven industries, primarily leveraging its high loading capacity and environmentally friendly flame retardancy.

(7) Ultra-fine active special aluminum hydroxide is primarily used in the production of low-smoke halogen-free cables, composite insulators, and copper foil laminates. Aluminum hydroxide flame retardant manufacturer
